Video: My Natural Eye Makeup Remover

This video was posted a few days ago on my You Tube Channel. I'm just now getting around to getting it up on the blog.

So I have very sensitive skin around my eyes. And of course with me getting older I want to protect my skin from aging as much as possible. I've tried several different eye makeup removers and finally I found one that I may stick with for awhile. Along with sensitive skin I also have very combination skin. Oily around the nose...dry forehead...normal cheeks and chin. So in the winter my face gets extremely dry. I started using coconut oil to remove my eye makeup. This is the best thing I could have done! Not only do I not get red, dry skin around my eyes from the oil free eye makeup remover but I get a great skin moisterizer and age fighter in the process....Check out this video!

Video: How to Make Beautiful Waves with a Waving Iron

I am sooooo late updating this blog! Forgive me...

Anyhoots...here is a video that I made on how to wave your hair with one of those "old school" waving irons. I bought the iron because I like the company who made the iron so I figured it HAD to be something good.  This waving iron came from www.drugstore.com and its made by Pro Beauty Tools. Pro Beauty Tools has some awesome styling products. I have 3 other ceramic curling irons from them and I absolutely love them.

Some Recent Makeup Looks - 7 Day Coastal Scents/BH Cosmetics Challenge

This colorful look came from one of my BH Cosmetics Palettes. I was playing in makeup last Saturday and decided to try the double wing eyeliner look that I saw on You Tube. It came out pretty good in my opinion. I will definitely do it again! I already have the look in mind that I want to do with it.
Used:
Cool Shimmer BH Cosmetics Palette (orange, fushia, purple, blue)
Mac Dirty Plum on cheeks
Viva Glam Nicky Lipglass

BH Cosmetics tropical matte palette (was going for a bronze/orange smokey eye look)
Mac Ambering Rose on Cheeks
Sephora Lipgloss - i cant remember the name

This is one of my favorite color schemes to use. FUSHIA!
I used the 78 color eyeshadow/blush palette from Coastal Scents
as well as the blush in the palette
This was my first time using the Luxurious Pink Lip Look Bag from the MAC Glamour Days Collection.
Cremesheen Lipstick - Lickable
Lip Liner - Great Catch
Cremesheen Lipglass - Call Me Gorgeous

This one and the one below is a look that was inspired by one of my Instagram buddies. I was going for a yellow look. However, her yellow was a super awesome bright yellow. My palette only included mild, neutral yellow tones.
Again this is the Coastal Scents Palette
Mac Ambering Rose on cheeks
Loreal Volcanic

Beauty on a Budget: Ruby Kisses 3D Concealer

Ruby Kisses 3D Face Creator 12 Hour Long Wear Concealer.
$4.99 at my local beauty supply store

I recently picked this up at the beauty supply store last weekend. I've been wearing it all week and so far I love it! I've been trying to find a concealer that matches the way I want it to match. This item has two colors that closely match. I purchased a level 9 which after looking at the Ruby Kisses website seems to be the lightest shade in the african american skin tones.

I use concealer to sculpt my eye brows and for a little highlight under my eyes. I dont use a lot of it but it still needs to be the right concealer to keep me from looking like a ghost.

I have several different brands of concealer and so far this is at the top of the list. 2nd on the list? Mac Studio Fix Concealer with spf 35. I love those to but I dont quite have the colors that I like. I have them in NC45 and NC35. I need once in between those two colors. The cost of those are $15 which is a little pricey. I also have a Revlon Photo Ready concealer stick. I think that cost me $7.99. I like it enough but its not one of my favorites. I do like how it looks in photos so it serves its purpose.

I'm glad I purchased this.  I had seen it a few times and was thinking about checking it out and I'm glad I finally did.

Beauty on a Budget: Olay ProX

I am ridiculously behind on my postings so while I have some time today I'm just going to bust them out! Stay tuned!

So I've been pinning over the Clarisonic facial cleanser thingy for sometime now. I just couldn't wrap my mind around the price for the thing in my head. Luckily I saw this little do-hickey...the Olay ProX Advanced Cleaning System.  The price for the Clarisonic model (from what I've seen) can run you from $119-199. I found this baby at www.drugstore.com (one of my new favorite websites) on sale for $28.99. I can't really compare it to the Clarisonic because I don't have one but I can say for the price of this one it is worth a try.

I actually purchased it a few months ago and tucked it away under my bathroom cabinet and it got lost in Never-Never Land. So a couple of weeks ago it surfaced again and I decided to use it. Since I have been wearing more makeup lately I needed something better to get rid of all the makeup in one wash. I was using a couple of things to cleanse my face but they all seemed to leave some remnants of makeup behind so I found myself washing my face 2-3 times a day.

I am so glad I purchased this thing. My face feels totally refreshed when I use it. But I do have to double up on the moisterizer afterwards. It comes with some Olay Exfoliating cleanser in a sample size. The full size runs about $15 on drugstore.com. I love that stuff as well. I will be investing in more of it. I may try the olay moisterizer too. I hear that it is very good for aging skin.

If you have one of these or a clarisonic let me know what you think about it.

You Tube Video: MY Eyebrow Routine

Recently, I posted a video showing my eyebrow routine. I've received a couple requests on how I do them so this is a quick video on how I do it.

DISCLAIMER: I am not a professional. I just have a love for makeup and have learned from watching  You Tube videos!!! This is my process and it is in no way a tutorial or "How To" video.

My New Wig...

I have been soooo LAZY lately. I have just been in a funky mood and not up for much posting or social networking or anything. But my last post was the hair the I received from The Hairtopia Corporation. I finished my U-part wig with a closure and I absolutely LOVE IT!! It is much longer than any wig that I have made. I used 3 bundles of hair in 24, 22 and 18 inches along with a 14 inch closure....all from Hairtopia at www.theweavestore.com.  The hair is virgin brazilian wavy and it is 5A grade hair. For all the "hairnistas" out there you probably know that is top quality grade hair. I'm still trying to find the definition of each grade of hair but hey...I've only seen 5A as the highest so it must be good. I can vouch for the fact that it is beautiful.  So far I have only curled it using my curling wand so the pictures below are of the hair curled with my curling wand. I will show other posts in different styles as I change it up.

New Herrrrrr!!!! Hairtopia Corporation

I got new herrrrrr! (hair for those not familiar with the slang....lol)

Yep! new herrrr! I was recently given some Virgin Brazilian hair to review from the Hairtopia Corporation.  This is 5AAAAA hair and it is BEAUTIFUL!  I received 24, 22, 18 inches and a closure.  Hairtopia Corp just had their Grand Re-Opening and she has added Brazilian, Malaysian and Peruvian hair to the inventory. She also has closures and clip-ins. If you are familiar with my You Tube channel you will know that I have done several videos using this hair. Previously the hair that I had received from them was Indian hair. I had also done a photoshoot for the company. I am not an employee of the Hairtopia Corporation. My reviews are always honest and my 100% honest opinion. I will be making my standard u-part wig with closure on this one and I will post the video once I get all of that done. I just wanted to give a sneak peek here on my blog.

24, 22, 18 inches and closure

closure - i have bleached the knots already

Hairtopia Corporation Photoshoot! Grand Re-Opening!

YOU BETTA WERK!!!

I recently had a photoshoot for the Grand Re-Opening of The Hairtopia Corp at www.theweavestore.com. We had a great time. I did a little hair modeling back in the day and tried my hand at a little runway modeling. When I modeled previously it was mostly plus size modeling. I didnt like it because I felt like the plus size models had to be so "extra" with all the runway dramatics and I really felt stupid...lol. But I think I could do photoshoots with no problem! :-) (as long as i work on my expressions....lol)

Theweavestore.com sells all types of hair Indian, Brazillian, Malaysian, and Peruvian hair. They also sell lace closures and clip-in weaves. I have been wearing this hair for about the past 6 months and I have to say it is some of the best hair that I've had. I've made U-part wigs in all textures straight, wavy and curly. I have to say that the wavy and curly are my favorite. I've not had much shedding and tangling with this hair at all. I can forsee that I will get lots of use out of this hair.

Here are some more pics from the photoshoot....I am wearing the Indian Straight.

I don't see how Beyonce can stand that fan blowing all the time! LOL

TGIM!: Here is my FOTD for 9/24/12

Today is a light make up day. I woke up too late and didnt have time to do a full face routine so this is a quick basically nude face....

Products used are:
FACE:
MaryKay Intense Moisterizer
MaryKay Foundation Primer with SPF
MAC Studio Fix Powder in NC45
BROWS:
MAC Studio Fix Concealer NC35
MaryKay Eyebrow Pencil - Brown
MAC Eye Shadow in Brun to set the pencil
EYES:
NYX eyeshadow base in skintone
Coastal Scents 78 Color Eyeshadow and Blush Palette
Gel eyeliner (will add the name later because I can't remember it at the moment)
LIPS:
MAC Snob Lipglass
MAC Force of Love Lipglass

So like I stated before this was just a super duper quick nude face. I woke up wanting to wear my Snob Lipstick today so since I didn't have a whole lot of time this is what I did with it. Snob has a tendency to look kind of chalky on my skintone even though I LOVE the color so I just put a little Force of Love lipglass to mix in with it. Force of Love was a limited edition lip glasss from the Chen Man Love & Water Collection. Out of that collection that was the only thing that I really really liked. Its a really pinkish pearlish lip glass. I love it.
